Moving and copying to layers using the Command line

You can also copy and move objects to other appropriate layers within the same model by typing commands into the Command line. This process also means you can move and copy CAD objects to other CAD Layers.

Warning: Do not mix Spatial Objects and CAD objects in your selection as there is no suitable layer that can contain both types of object.

To move or copy objects to other layers using the Command line:

Type either Copy to Layer or Move to Layer into the Command Line.
The software prompts you to select object(s).
Select one or more objects from the workspace (including CAD if required).
Press <Enter>.
A dialog is displayed with a choice of suitable destination layers.
Select the appropriate layer and click OK to move or copy the original object.
